Meet the Accountant!

My name is Laura Stephens and I'm the owner of Stephens Bookkeeping LLC. I'm a hardworking business owner, mother, wife, daughter, pet owner, and sister. I have three boys (i know crazy), who are my favorite people and man are kids the best way to learn how to adapt and change and roll with the punches. I'm a special needs mom and anyone who knows that life knows you have to be a hard worker to make it. 

I started my business in 2021 right before the world shut down. While initially I thought oh no I'll never get my business off the ground, quite the opposite happened...it took off. Companies realized how much they were overpaying having an in office person doing their books, or how much of their time they were wasting trying to do it all on their own. That's where I step in. I've worked with QuickBooks for 18 years. I love that it's always evolving and changing to the world around it. I have used my skills on the job and my knowledge from my accounting degree to help all the small businesses I've worked for over the years. To get a call from an overworked business owner who's so stressed out they're not sleeping, and I'm able to provide some relief for that......man that's what I live for!

I'm a sarcastic homebody who will always choose an email over a phone call. And that's not everyones cup of tea. But what i can promise is that I care so much about my clients and want them to be successful in every avenue of their business and that often takes me outside of my scope and outside of my normal office hours. 

You may be able to find a bookkeeper elsewhere that is cheaper or more chatty, but I'm going to be more than that. I'll be a bookkeeper, sounding board, researcher, and friend. I've done this a long time and love what I do, but I'm also a small business owner just like you and if I have connections or resources or have learned something in my own business that could help yours I will absolutely share.
